Currently Coveting: Velvet

Velvet is surely a love it or hate it kind of fabric. I personally think velvet fashion and accessory finds can liven up any wardrobe, even if you're a little more conservative. There are ways to make velvet look classy or subtle and, of course, plenty of ways to rock a velvet statement piece. Here I have gathered up eight fun finds that work for all budgets and occasions (there's even some workwear). Channel your inner '90s child and check out the cool pieces I've linked below.

01. Velvet Wrap Tulip Skirt

Urban Outfitters $89 // Dress it up with a silk blouse or go comfy-cool with a slouchy sweater. Either way, this skirt is a winner with an adorable tie at the hip and a flattering wrap cut.

02. Embroidered velvet tee

Urban Outfitters $39 // This statement tee goes with anything from a leather skirt to slouchy jeans. Pair with simple earrings for a classy finish or studded booties for an edgy vibe.

03. Velvet ankle strap block heeled sandals

Express $59.90 (on sale for $30.99) // I scored these babies for $15 on sale and I have to say, they are amazing! A shorter block heel and soft velvet make them a super comfortable and cute option to pair with your LBD, or even the right pair of slacks. Fair warning, if you have wider feet, these will not work well for you as they are a bit on the narrow side.

04. Natasha two pack velvet ponytail holders

Express $12 // A true '90s child favorite...the scrunchie! If you are a little shy when it comes to rocking velvet but still want to give the trend a try, inexpensive accessories are a great option. I love a good scrunchie because they don't leave a kink in my hair and don't snag or pull like elastics do.

05. velvet dad hat

Forever21 $4.20 // This is another great inexpensive accessory to try out. Dad hats are flattering on most people and are great for covering up gym hair, throwing on when it gets windy, or just rocking with your best casual outfit.

06. sequinned velvet dress

Zara $89.90 // Zara is a great shop for unique statement pieces and didn't miss a beat with this sequin embellished velvet dress. It would be perfect for your next holiday party! New Year's Eve, anyone?

07. Blouse with velvet trim

Zara $39.90 // A more subtle option, this velvet trimmed blouse would be a fantastic addition to your work wardrobe! Pair with black slacks and a blazer for a professional look with a bit of something extra.

08. velvet skinny

Free People $98 (on sale for $69.95) // These cozy skinnies come in burgundy and black and are easy to dress up or down. They would look great with a chunky sweater or graphic tee if you're keeping it casual.

So what do you think? Will you be rocking any of these this Winter? Let me know which pieces are your favorites in the comments below!
